Historic Name FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Description of Significance THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF WAURIKA IS AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF A SIDE-TOWER TYPE RELIGIOUS BUILDING WITH PRAIRIE SCHOOL STYLE DETAILS. THE CHURCH IS A SINGLE STORY BRICK BUILDING WITH A FRONT-GABLED ROOF. MANY OF THE GABLE ENDS ARE CLAD IN WOOD SHINGLES. MOST OF THE WINDOWS FEATURE MULTI-PANE UPPER SASHES WITH SINGLE OR FOUR PANE LOWER SASHES. THIS BUILDING STOPPED FUNCTIONING AS A CHURCH IN THE 1980S AND HAS SINCE BEEN USED BY THE CITY FOR OFFICES. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 3/13/2002.
